Album Info:On March 24th, I went to see the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, Texas. Until recently, it was located in Dallas, and the new facilities have not been completely finished, limiting access to the site. However, they run weekend tours, and I was in Frisco on a Saturday, so I got to go visit. I was glad I did! You know those huge Union Pacific engines in Omaha? Frisco's got them too! Their extensive collection included a Frisco Meteor steam engine, a Canadian National locomotive in disguise, and even a Pennsylvania Railroad locomotive that has headed west! It's a huge collection, but a must-see if you are ever in Frisco. Enjoy the photos!

Description:  This locomotive and a caboose are the first engines on display to greet you, by the Frisco Heritage Museum. The way the Museum of the American Railroad is currently set up, you by your ticket at this museum, then drive to the Frisco Discovery Center, about 5 minutes away. Most of the trains are stored next to this.

Description:  Don't let the paint fool you! This locomotive actually spent its life with the Canadian National, before getting repainted to a more Texan paint scheme. The Santa Fe had plenty of tracks in Texas, while the CN...well, you can guess why that might not have run there.
